Recap of World Cafe Live at The Queen Theatre!

Hey Folks!

The past two weeks have been nothing short of amazing, and I would like to tell you a little bit about them in a series of recaps (three total). Here is the first!

I had an opportunity to play on a bill at the World Café Live at the Queen Theatre! Yes, that World Café, the radio station (WXPN) in which the great David Dye calls home. Pretty amazing! They have two beautiful music venues, one in Center City Philly and in Wilmington, Delaware. Gable Music Ventures set up the night on April 5th in Wilmington and everyone was treated to a splendid and intimate listening room environment, where respect was given to both the performer and audience.

In this day in age, it’s rare that one experiences any type of show without the pervasiveness of cell phones attempting to capture a moment in time, and/or the incessant blathering of patrons which can sometimes (unfortunately) bleed into the live music. As an artist, you cherish these moments of being able to tell a story to 100+ people and make music with the idea of creating a communal experience for everyone involved.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think there would be an opportunity to perform in a room like The World Café. It was truly a privilege to share the stage which such fantastic musicians, and to be able to catch up with family and friends that were able to come to the show.  Thank You.

"Farragut Square" Release for April 1st + Singer-Songwriter Cape May in NJ !!!

Hey Gang,

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve been able to sit down and write something related to music. There are a bunch of developments that I am able to tell you about now. So, here it goes…

The pressings for “Farragut Square” arrived in the mail last week! 300 in total. I’m stoked to be able to share this single with you! It’s been a little bit since I’ve been able to release something new (the Motorcycle Breakfast EP was released in Fall 2011). How time flies when you stop to blink!

Farragut Square will be officially released on Tuesday, April 1st.  A few of my good friends that are in a wonderful band called South Rail helped commit this song to tape. Please jump on to facebook and twitter next Tuesday for all the details about the release. And then I’ll probably remind you some more. *smile*

Another big piece of news for March! Will be closing out the month by performing at Singer-Songwriter Cape May, in Cape May, NJ! I had the opportunity to perform as part of a showcase at C-View Inn last year. This year, I’ll be playing at the Pilot House on Saturday, March 29th. 9:15 set time. If you find yourself in Cape May this weekend, come out for some delicious seafood and live, original music!!

Talk to you next week!

March goes In Like a Lion!

Hey Gang!

Rabbit Rabbit. Like the title says, we're starting off the month strong. A "family reunion" show with The French Admirals and SIlhouette Cities. Come out to one of DC's finest Microbrew pubs for some Sunday night tunes at The Black Squirrel. Try not to let the weather dictate your appetite for live original music, please!! This will be a great show, and French Admirals are likely gonna be sharing songs from their forthcoming record, which I've heard is going to be one to snap up when it's ready. LIke the flier that's being passed around says, "this revolution will not be televised."

In other news, "Farragut Square" has been mastered by Mike at BIAS and will be available very soon, I promise! Going to press the 7" to disc shortly as part of a limited run. Let me know if you want to reserve your copy. Oh! This past Tuesday I played as a duo with my friend Mark McInerney at the Velvet Lounge supporting Braceface (DC) and Last in Line (Harrisburg). He's in a band called The Dead Women. If you like punk rock/alternative rock, do yourself a favor and go see them. They're at the R&R Hotel in DC this Monday night supporting The Men. Also, another band with record out soon.

Stay tuned for more,

- “Farragut Square” has been recorded! It’s been mixed by Aaron Burke and sounding really great to all ears involved. Getting the mastered treatment early next week. Hooray!  Online release for sure, and likely as a 7” too. Will post you when more details get ironed out.

FOUR!  Free Community Show in Arlington this Saturday, February 15th curated by my friend Derek Evry. 11 Wonderful Artists, Tons of Fun!  Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA on February 21st and 22nd! This will be my second time, and can't wait to meet up with old friends and maybe even make a few new ones at the same time!  It’s a great honor to be asked to perform alongside such a fantastic array of musicians next weekend. Coakley’s Irish Pub and Pete’s Old Towne in New Cumberland, PA will be filled with sweet music.

Plus, come out on Tuesday, February 25th to the Velvet Lounge. Will be starting the night supporting some really cool punk bands Last in Line, The Good Fight and Braceface. 9pm, Should be a ruckus!
