Recap of Shows from June 6-8, 2013!

Hey Folks!

Wow, it's been a busy few days of playing some songs for you! It was a privilege to be a part of the Songwriters and Poets Series in DC's Adams Morgan neighborhood on Thursday night. If you haven't checked out what Indie Adams Morgan is doing lately, they are putting together some fabulous nights of spoken word poets, solo acts and full bands. It was great fun playing with Juels Bland, Shelly Bell, and The Future Band DC! After the buckets of rain, on Friday evening, we had a blast at St. Elmo's Coffee Pub and gave a few of my older songs a workout like "Rind of the Moon" and "Many Days." Then last night, I had the chance to be play in a Songwriters Circle/House Show at 16th Street House in DC with DC-based singer songwriters Sara Davenport, Dave Farah and Maureen Andary of The Sweater Set. Thanks to Carolyn Crysdale for having all of us! Check out her music, too!

Okay, here is my big announcement. I have decided to release an alternate version of my song “19 East” through a number of virtual record stores like Amazon, CD Baby, and of course iTunes (search my name or 19 East)
This version includes a percussion section with Stefan Held on bass guitar and Matty Amendola on the drums.

I hope you enjoy the artwork as well as the song.
I encourage you to write a short review of the song, whether you choose to buy the track through Amazon, CD Baby, or iTunes.

Playing in The Tree House!! Thursday, May 23rd

That's right, guys! Will be playing in the Tree House Lounge on Thursday, May 23rd. It's a brand spanking new venue in the Trinidad neighborhood in DC.
The show starts at 9pm sharp. Yours truly may have a special guest on stage that night, so you won't wanna be late for when that magic happens! The French Admirals go on at 9:40pm, followed by the wonderful Carolyn Crysdale at 10:30pm.

One Fund Boston! Benefit Show at IOTA on May 2nd!

Hey Gang,

Last minute show tomorrow night for One Fund Boston! This is a really important cause in the aftermath of what happened during the Boston Marathon a few weeks ago. Please come and show your support at IOTA Club & Cafe in Arlington, VA. It's a great lineup of DC artists.

The Highballers, Wes Tucker & the Skillets, South Rail, Rachel Levitin, Flo Anito, Jonny Grave, Caryn Sever and I will be playing some short sets. It's a $10 Minimum donation to get in to the show. Starts at 8pm. Hope to see you there!!

Hey Folks!

Writing to you from the sofa with a few updates. Lots of fun things to report! Three good ones.
1) A video is in the works for a song off my debut EP Motorcycle Breakfast. Pick up a copy here!
2) Working on some songs for a new record. Things might get a bit louder when the time is right...you never know.
3) Will be back at Jammin' Java in Vienna on Sunday, May 5th supporting Crys Matthews, Andrea Pais, and Maddie Assel. Cinco de Mayo. Get your advance tickets here!

Recap of March shows + Update on New Record!

Thanks to everyone who has come out to the shows and filling the rooms over the past few weeks!! The Light Horse, Buzz Bakery, Jammin’ Java, DC9, Singer-Songwriter Cape May...I can’t thank you enough for all of your support. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you all.
This week, I’ll be performing as part of Indie Adams Morgan’s Songwriters and Poets Preview Series – Thursday, March 28th, beginning at 8pm. Lineup and link to tickets can be found here.

After tomorrow night, I’ll be playing some shows a bit sporadically over the next months to focus on the next record. Various taste tests of new material have gone pretty well so far at shows. Thank you!!

A Week of Firsts! Buzz, Jammin' Java, DC9 and The Rusty Nail!!!!

Hey Gang! Holy cow, this is going to be an action packed week full of shows!!! :) First up is Buzz Bakery in Alexandria, VA on Monday, March 11th. Set from 8:30-10:30pm. Come for their delicious coffee, tea and their amazing cupcakes. I'll bring the acoustic storm. Wednesday, March 13th, it will be my first time playing at Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA!!! Will be sharing the stage with Allegheny St. Blasberg & Sgroi, Folk Rock Taking Over and Ethan Schaefer. Click here for more details and tickets. This just off the wire!! I'll be opening for local rockers Midnight Hike and The Thiefs at DC9!!! It's on 9th Street, NW near the corner of 9th and U in the District. Show starts at 9pm. It's time to check in with you. We've been busy lately. A very cool night at DC's The Getaway in Columbia Heights w/local artists Double Saginaw Familiarity, Rachel Levitin, Silhouette Cities and The French Admirals doing their thing on stage last Friday evening. The following night, I played over at St. Elmo's Coffee Pub. Always a treat to play at this fabulous coffee shop in Del Ray! Try the blackberry sage tea. You'll thank me later. :)

Millennium Music Conference - Next Show at The Getaway in DC!

Hey All, Thanks so much to everyone for coming out to New Cumberland, PA to Coakley's as part of the Millennium Music Conference! I met a whole bunch of really great artists this past weekend. It seems like such a long time ago when I spent many weekends of my youth hanging out at The Wire . It was so refeshing to see that same type of artistic energy that which flowed throughout that room night in and night out still thriving in this community. Hope to be back again soon! Next show is this Friday, February 22nd at The Getaway in DC. It's in Columbia Heights just off the Green Line! Will be part of a showcase featuring Rachel Levitin, Double Saginaw Familiarity, The French Admirals and Silhouette Cities. To experience this good time in the making, get there at 8pm. Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA! Feb 15 and 16

Hey Folks!

Got some great news! This weekend, I'll be playing at the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA! 300 acts from all over the world descending on Central Pennsylvania this weekend. 20 plus venues. Sounds like fun to me!

I'll be playing at Coakley's Irish Pub (Acoustic Stage) in New Cumberland, PA on Saturday, February 16th at 10:45pm. Check the Shows section for the full lineup. Get there early for some fish and chips, and mill around the place for some great music all weekend.

Oh! And one other important update! "19 East" off the Motorcycle Breakfast EP is featured on the Conference Compilation Disc!

Update on New Record + Shows + Band Next Door Radio Show!

Hey Gang!

We're sure not letting the grass grow under our feet in 2013. Thanks to Mad City Coffee in Columbia, Parker's in Bethesda and FireFlies in Alexandria for playing host to shows! It's been great introducing some new tunes into the mix. Some of these new songs just might get featured on a new record that I'm working on over at Fill Your Boots - hint hint. I'm really excited about the progress that's been made so far on this record. Expect the unexpected when it's ready.

At the same time, there are a few other things you need to know. I'll be playing at Buzz Bakery in Alexandria on Monday, January 28th. Get your treats before 8pm and take in a show! I will be also be on an internet radio program called Band Next Door at The Phoenix on Friday, February 1st! Check em out on Facebook here . Show will be from 12pm-2pm.

Happy New Year!! January and February Shows, including Millennium Music Conference!

Hey Folks!

A Happy New Year to all of you! 2013 is off to a splendid start, and have a batch of new shows to announce. I'll be playing in Columbia, MD at Mad City tonight, followed by Parker's in Bethesda on Jan 11th, FireFlies in Alexandria on January 17th, and January 28th at Buzz Bakery, also in Alexandria.

In addition to these shows, I've been accepted to play at the 17th Annual Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA! This is a very prestigious festival -300 bands/artists from all over the place will be performing at different venues around South Central PA. I'll be performing at Coakley's Irish Pub in New Cumberland, PA on Saturday, February 16th. Check out the Shows section for more details. I'm really stoked to be a part of MMC, and I hope you'll be there too! Scratch tracks are beginning for a new record. Hopeful for a release sometime this year.

Christmas Time, Mayans Were Wrong, New Record in 2013!

Hey Gang,

I owe you all an upate. Played a really fun show over at the Convergence LAB in Alexandria with DC ukelele man Don Kim, View from the Moon, and a few entertaining spoken word poets last Monday night. Good times all around, and if you were there, you saw me sporting a ridiculous Christmas sweater with plenty of reindeer and holly. Tis the season!

What's today? December 23rd, 2012? Take that Mayans! We're still here. Live and kicking.

2013 is around the corner!! What is planned so far?? Check the shows page. I've got a string of gigs in January. Catch me in various Northern Virginia and Bethesda neighborhoods. Also, I've begun scratch tracks for a new record, which (knock on wood) will be out sometime in Spring 2013. Will clue you guys in more on that later.

Holiday Notes!

Well hi Folks!

Been a few weeks! Can't believe it's already December!!! Let's see, what's news? I played a fun little show at Buzz Bakery in Alexandria last week and checked out some cool bands like North of Canada, Young Rapids, Wes Swing and Sanders Bohlke. I highly recommend catching any one of these acts. Lately, I've been working on some material that's finding its way into a few setlists as of late. Be on the lookout for an update later this month.

If you're in Alexandria, VA, on Monday, December 17th, come to the Convergence Lab! A Holiday Extravaganza featuring Don Kim (local uke player), spoken word poets Sarah D. Lawson and Eric Heald-Webb and View From the Moon (featuring Alison Heald-Webb, Joe Sinclair, Victor Cora Nazario, Israel Nieves).

Hey Folks!

This past weekend was a bit surreal. I got a chance to play at The Cave in Chapel Hill, NC! A very cool music club indeed. Shared the stage with Nashville-based singer songwriter Dylan Taylor and together we rocked the casbah. Couple this with being in the Dean Dome for my first in-person UNC Tar Heels basketball game, and you've got yourself a real good time on your hands.
